CHAPTER 3 OF 4PAGE 16 OF 21

What is DIY credit repair?

How long does negative information stay on my report?

Most negative account information can generally be reported for seven years; bankruptcy information can remain for up to ten. The relevant starting date and exceptions depend on the type of entry.

Your Credit Path strategy asks you to check the dates carefully. For a collection or charge off, do not assume the reporting period starts over with the collector’s purchase date or your most recent activity. Keep the original report for comparison.
